Maarit Hiidenportti (b.1983)

​

has been drawing ever since she was able to hold a pen. Her first project was an illustrated comic of Zorro for her teacher at age of 7. She was called as a natural story-teller from a very early age.

​

Maarit's specialties lies in Japanese art, tattoos, medieval art, comics, character designing, scripting and naive art. Her tiny inner Guillermo del Toro gets excited by monsters and without any doubt, she has seen all werewolf movies ever released in Finland. (Though her favorite horror movie is The Ritual). Along monsters, Maarit gets inspiration from her travels, history books, naive art, Japanese minimalism and Anita Moorjani's lessons.

Besides illustrations, Maarit is a communication expert. She's currently working at Wannado as a content producer. Before Wannado, Maarit has had a joy to work from tiny companies to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Finland with their content and communication needs.
